Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Colombo & City Introduction

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo. Be warmly welcomed by your private guide and transfer to your hotel in the city. After check-in, embark on a scenic introduction to Sri Lanka's vibrant commercial capital. Visit the historic Galle Face Green — a vast ocean-side urban park, perfect for a breezy evening stroll as street food vendors line the promenade. Drive through the colonial Fort District — admire the Old Parliament Building, Colombo Lighthouse, and the grand Dutch Period Museum. Explore the aromatic Pettah Bazaar — a bustling market district overflowing with spices, gemstones, fabrics, and local produce. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean. Overnight in Colombo.

Day 02: Kandy — Temple of the Tooth & Cultural Capital

After breakfast, depart for Kandy (approx. 3–4 hours from Colombo through lush tea-covered hills and spice plantations). En route, visit a working spice and herb garden — learn about cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and pepper grown in their natural habitat. Upon arriving in Kandy — Sri Lanka's last royal capital and a UNESCO World Heritage City — visit the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) — one of Buddhism's most venerated shrines, housing a relic of the Buddha's tooth. Stroll around the serene Kandy Lake and explore the Kandy Central Market. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan Cultural Show — featuring fire dancing, acrobatic drumming, and classical dance. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 03: Kandy — Royal Botanical Gardens, Pinnawala & Village Walk

After breakfast, spend a full second day exploring Kandy's environs. Visit the magnificent Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya — 147 acres of tropical splendour featuring giant bamboo groves, an orchid house, a spice garden, and one of the world's finest collections of palms, ferns, and flowering trees. Continue to the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage — watch a herd of rescued wild elephants bathing in the Maha Oya River in a truly heartwarming spectacle. In the afternoon, explore the hills above Kandy with a guided village walk — visit a traditional farmer's home, sample homemade jaggery, and learn about Kandyan weaving and pottery. Overnight in Kandy.

Day 04: Kandy to Bentota — Coastal Beach Resort

After a final Kandy breakfast, transfer to Bentota on the southwestern coast (approx. 3.5 hours). Check in to your beachfront resort. Afternoon at leisure — swim in the warm Indian Ocean, explore the beach, and enjoy sunset cocktails at the beach bar. Fresh seafood dinner at the resort. Overnight in Bentota.

Day 05: Bentota — Water Sports, Turtle Hatchery & River Safari

Full day of Bentota pleasures: morning water sports, Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project visit (watch baby turtles released into the sea), and a sunset Bentota River boat safari through mangroves — spotting monitor lizards, kingfishers, and crocodiles. Farewell seafood BBQ on the beach. Overnight in Bentota.

Day 06: Departure from Bentota / Colombo

Final breakfast at the resort. Transfer to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (approx. 1.5 hours) for your onward flight, departing Sri Lanka — the Resplendent Isle — with extraordinary memories of ancient temples, hill-country train rides, and golden beaches.
