Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Colombo & City Introduction
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo. Be warmly welcomed by your private guide and transfer to your hotel in the city. After check-in, embark on a scenic introduction to Sri Lanka's vibrant commercial capital. Visit the historic Galle Face Green — a vast ocean-side urban park, perfect for a breezy evening stroll as street food vendors line the promenade. Drive through the colonial Fort District — admire the Old Parliament Building, Colombo Lighthouse, and the grand Dutch Period Museum. Explore the aromatic Pettah Bazaar — a bustling market district overflowing with spices, gemstones, fabrics, and local produce. Day 02: Kandy — Temple of the Tooth & Cultural Capital
After breakfast, depart for Kandy (approx. 3–4 hours from Colombo through lush tea-covered hills and spice plantations). En route, visit a working spice and herb garden — learn about cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and pepper grown in their natural habitat. Upon arriving in Kandy — Sri Lanka's last royal capital and a UNESCO World Heritage City — visit the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) — one of Buddhism's most venerated shrines, housing a relic of the Buddha's tooth. Stroll around the serene Kandy Lake and explore the Kandy Central Market. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan Cultural Show — featuring fire dancing, acrobatic drumming, and classical dance. Day 03: Ella — Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak & Tea Trails
After breakfast, journey to the picturesque hill village of Ella (approx. 2–3 hours from Kandy or Nuwara Eliya) — one of Sri Lanka's most scenic destinations, set among rolling tea estates, jungle-clad ridges, and misty valleys. The highlight is the iconic Nine Arches Bridge — a stunning colonial-era viaduct built entirely of brick and stone, framed by lush tropical forest. Hike up Little Adam's Peak (approx. 45 minutes) for sweeping panoramic views over Ella Gap, tea plantations, and the surrounding mountains. Visit a local tea factory for a tasting session. Explore the Ella village's charming cafés and art shops, browse handmade jewellery, and enjoy a hearty Sri Lankan lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight in Ella.
Day 04: Ella to Bentota — Scenic Train & Coastal Arrival
Begin the day with what many travellers call the most beautiful train journey in the world — board the iconic Ella–Colombo hill country train, winding through verdant tea estates, arched viaducts, and misty mountain valleys. Disembark at a coastal station and transfer to Bentota (total approx. 4–5 hours). Check in to your beachfront resort on the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the sunset on the beach and a fresh seafood dinner. Overnight in Bentota.
Day 05: Bentota — Water Sports, Turtle Hatchery & River Safari
Full day of Bentota experiences: morning water sports (jet ski, banana boat, windsurfing), visit to the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Hatchery, and an afternoon Bentota River Safari through mangroves — spotting water monitors, kingfishers, and crocodiles. Farewell seafood BBQ dinner on the beach. Overnight in Bentota.
Day 06: Departure from Bentota / Colombo
Enjoy a final breakfast at the resort with the sound of the Indian Ocean. Check out and transfer to Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (approx. 1.5 hours) for your onward international flight — departing the Resplendent Isle with indelible memories of ancient rock fortresses, sacred temples, wildlife-rich jungles, and golden beaches.
